What the charity does

The principle activities of the Wise Foundation in 2023/24 have reflected the mission of: Creating sustainable social enterprise to address disadvantage . The primary means by which the Foundation has engaged with the community and sought to fulfil its' principles in 2023/24 have been through: The Gardens Club community events space and café in the Brisbane City Botanic Garden. Hospitality Program operating at The Gardens Club, this social initiative is aimed at providing hospitality training and employment for individuals facing barriers to employment. Wise Barista Program a social initiative, supported by, The Adidem Group, to assist individuals facing barriers to employment by creating employment opportunities and barista, basic cooking and customer service training. Bee Lafaek a waterbased social enterprise in Timor Leste, providing employment and business opportunities for Timorese youth. Village Bookshop through Village Bookshop s It Takes A Village program, training and employment is provided for individuals facing barriers, and other social activities within the local community. Provision of support and advice to NonGovernment Organisations and charities in relation to the development of new social enterprises and assistance to engage in social innovation.
